Discovery That Makes the First Sprint Useful
22 May 2026Webbaaz Editorial

Skipping discovery feels fast until the first build answers the wrong question. A focused discovery is a few conversations, a look at the current tools, and a written first release. It should end with something the team can build next, not a slide deck that restates the brief.
What to leave the room with
- The users, and the job each one is hiring the product to do
- The assumption that would make the project pointless if it is wrong
- A first sprint that tests that assumption with real data or a real user
Keep it short on purpose
Two weeks is enough for most business products if the right people are available. Longer discovery usually means the decision maker is missing, not that the problem is deeper. Name that person, book their time, and stop when the first release is clear enough to estimate.
